The units share a common stairwell with direct access to Dowling St. The building is just over a half mile from the new Emancipation Park project and just under a half mile from Project Row Houses. Local lore has it that Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife stayed in one of the walk-ups during a visit to Houston. We are currently pursuing landmark status for the building in order to ensure that it is preserved.
